Judge's Comments:
#1 This image has potential. The U.S. flag and lamps in the shadows, and the shadows of the lamps on the textured wall tell a good story of time and place. Here are a couple of suggestions: (1) Crop in from the left to eliminate the alternated-slatted wall, and (2) increase the exposure of the image a bit to add a bit of pop to the shadows and midtones and control the highlights to avoid over-exposure.

#3 Cropping from the left could improve the flag and light reflections as the subject.
#4 The different pattern on the left is a distraction. My attention is drawn to the bright sunspot. Burning in (brightening) the flag would let it compete with the sunspot for attention.
