Judge's Comments:
1. This image could have been a record shot of a bunch of New England asters, but vignetting made it an interesting photograph. Nevertheless, the judge's eye was drawn away from the center-of-interest to the large blurred aster in the left bottom corner and the purple blur below the center-of-interest. The judge suggests cropping to eliminate/reduce these distractions. Critiques aside, you did well.
2. I love this image. The photographer has done a great job of focusing our attention on just one flower, making it the sharpest object in the photo. I also love how the circular pattern outlined by the out-of-focus blooms gives this image a feeling of motion, as if the other blooms were swirling around the one in the middle.
