#3. The photographer has a good idea here. It is correctly exposed and well-focused edge-to-edge. The area of interest in this image is from the left edge to just past the right edge of the small piece of bark, and from the bottom edge of the image up about 25%, more-or-less, of its width. Even if this image were correctly framed, the light-colored stem below the rock grabs the viewer's eye and takes it out of the image prematurely, seriously detracting from the image's effectiveness.
