Judge's Comments:
#1 The rosebud in the foreground detracts from the rose blossom that appears to the center of interest of this image. Likewise, bright rose blossoms in the background draw the viewer's eye away from the center of interest. If the image were more closely cropped, the rosebud might become a complement to the subject.

#3 The rose and the bud would make a nice image. The flowers on the left and right that are blooming are distractions. A tight crop of this image would have made it really stand out with just the bud and rose.
#4 The pretty rose is the subject and is supported by the smaller flowers in the background. The bud in front competes for the viewer's attention. The lowest part of the frame is slightly distracting and could be cropped. The almost sharp leaves in the upper background also are distracting. Nice color and exposure.
