Judge's Comments:
#1 The flower that is the center of interest is tack sharp with good color against the black background., but the majority of the image is out-of-focus and does not contribute to the portrayal of the center-of-interest. This judge suggests cropping relatively closely around the flower's blossom, using the stem as a lead-in line, and eliminating the white blob touching the right sepal of the flower. The amount of cropping is a matter of the photographer's judgment; however, consider starting with the out-of-focus upper one-third of the photograph that does not contribute to the subject of this image.

#3 This photo has potential but the black shadow is distracting and has a strong pull as the flower which is the subject.
#4 Nicely exposed and sharp flower. The black shadow above the flower creates a distracting line. Try cropping out some of the upper right to see if that improves the image.
