Judges Comments:
#1 Great exposure control in a technically challenging contrast between a dimly lit interior and a much brighter exterior. I like the strong use of lines in this photo, with the backs of the pews leading directly to the window, and the grid of the window frame continuing the leading lines upward while framing the tree trunk that I presume is the intended subject of interest. While this photo is on point with the intent of the assignment, and it executes some strong elements of design, it lacks the sense of mystery or story that some of the other photos have.
#2 A nice capture of a difficult exposure. I assume the subject is the window, or is it the tree? The benches lines lead the view toward the window. It would be more effective if the window is smaller in the frame.
