Judges Comments:
#1 An evocative image, presumably of the horse pasture in Cades Cove. I like how the brighter colors in the bottom two-thirds of the image contrast with the nearly monotone shading of the top third. I feel this image might be stronger if the fence in the foreground were cloned out, or if the photographer had shot from a different location, or perhaps just higher so the fence would not have cut across the bodies of the horses.
