#1 A fine image technically, and on point with the assignment. I love the implied story of showing two birds of different species in such close proximity. Is one challenging the other? Or is one trying to freeload off whatever food the other one finds? While the leaves in the lower right are a counterbalance to the birds in the upper left, they also are distracting since they consume so much of the image and have the same tonal value and sharpness as the birds. While I presume the birds were the intended subject, I felt my eyes flitting back and forth between the birds and the leaves. Perhaps this could be mitigated by including less of the leaves and toning down their brightness, focus and/or saturation to reduce the visual tug-of-war that seems to be going on.
