#3. This image Pops. Excellent color, exposure, and focus, but it is static with the branch running straight across the width of the image. Would a diagonal arrangement of this subject have worked?
#4. The saturated color and perfect exposure are the story here. This image really pops. The fungus looks convincingly real. While the composition might at first appear static because of the horizontal log, the subject itself has a more dynamic diagonal positioning that gives it positive tension. The subject is also pleasingly located along a rule-of-thirds line. The background is quite cluttered, but it is relatively dark toned and does not significantly distract from the subject.
